Apple HIG:
Apple Human Interface Guidelines provides a wide range of tools and information to provide the best services and consistency in one’s product. I’m shock to have learn about this recently and always wonder how certain apps followed a similar structure or criteria. It provides a blueprint and guidance that should be integrated to align with the Apple user interface standards, and make the application as efficient as possible. It ranges from designing for various devices to understanding the foundations, patterns, and overall structure when building an application.
There can be a lot of information to read and it can get overwhelming to entirely understand. I noticed that the guidelines are well organized and divided into different categories to allow easy access to certain topics without having to read everything. It’s a learning curve, however, it’s great to take a look in certain sections to learn from, get clarity, and possible reminders. It provides great advice that has been helping me when figuring out a layout for a specific screen and the entirety of the app. I learned that Apple has a software, “SF Symbols,” that anyone can access for free to use their standard set of icons to design the apps. In addition, they use the “San Francisco (SF)” typeface throughout all their interfaces. I’m still constantly learning, fixing, and improving as I read the guidelines.
“Can’t See” Quiz:

At first, the quiz felt so simple until I realized I was on the “easy” portion. The “medium” section wasn’t a challenge either, due to the differences still being noticeable. I was able to speed through both, but took most of my time in the “hardest” portion of the quiz. There were instances in which I didn’t know as I had to look at the slight change such as the text alignment, title tracking, and very subtle typography. I missed a couple but on my first try, I felt proud for getting a good score of 7330, shown above. I decided to take it again a couple days later to see if I could improve! The quiz also provides practice and understanding of making an efficient app. Below is my new and improve score!
